Bollo Woodfired Pizza
Named one of the country’s top ten pizza restaurants, Bollo Woodfired is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. It’s known for sourcing buffalo mozzarella and 00 flour from Italy. The chefs create the pizzas to order and bake them to perfection in an 800-degree, wood-fired oven. For dinner, sample the diavola. A customer favorite, it features mozzarella, arugula, spicy salami, roasted red bells, and crushed red peppers.
A local fixture since 1984, Fuzzy’s Pizza is a household name throughout the Houston area. This pizza restaurant began from humble beginnings with just 500 square feet. It has since grown and is now one of the top “100 hot independent pizza restaurants” in the United States. Fuzzy’s creates one-of-a-kind recipes, and many of the ingredients come from local farmers’ markets. Pizzas include the alfredo, Hawaiian, and Santa Fe.
Antonio’s Flying Pizza
Family-owned Antonio’s Flying Pizza serves visitors from around the world. Founder Antonio Rosa moved from Sicily to Brooklyn in 1959 where he sold pizza slices for 15 cents. Antonio moved his family to Houston 12 years later. He opened Antonio’s Flying Pizza, and today his family carries on his tradition of offering delicious pizzas at reasonable prices. Choices include campagnola, rustica, and tartufata. They pair well with the tiramisu for dessert.
